This week's readings were presented as a series of videos regarding architectural education, and its effects on students. We found these videos to be ironically presented at first, as they tend to contradict more or less our whole education here at the University of Manitoba. After watching them, we were all left with the impression of 'what is the school, and our instructors doing to modify and improve our education, as everyone who spoke in these videos saw that we are being taught in an 'unhealthy' manner.' Some speakers even extended their remodel of education to the degree of getting rid of the studio based education that we are all very accustomed to.
Although there were several aspects of our education that fit with the ideas presented in these videos, being the sometimes 'aimless' wandering and exploration of ideas that aren't directly linked to our education, but in the end have greater value and meaning after one learns it on their own.
